1. What FamilyOS is

FamilyOS is an AI-powered family logistics tool built by Dogwood Systems Inc. It helps parents manage schedules, school events, activities, and household coordination through SMS and daily briefings.

2. Who can use it

FamilyOS is currently available to families in Canada. Your data is stored in the AWS ca-central-1 region (Ontario) to comply with Canadian privacy standards.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information during onboarding.
  • You're responsible for anyone you add to your family group. Each person must individually opt in.
  • Use the service for household management — not anything illegal or harmful.

4. SMS messaging

  • By opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages about your family's schedule, reminders, briefings, and assistant conversations.
  • How often you hear from us depends on your family's activity.
  • Message and data rates may apply — check with your carrier.
  • Opt out any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for assistance.
  • Each person added to your family group must confirm their own opt-in.
  • SMS consent and opt-in data will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Google and iCloud integrations

Connecting Google Calendar, Gmail, or iCloud Calendar is optional and requires your explicit permission during onboarding.

  • Google Calendar:We read your calendars (including shared family calendars) to track your family's schedule. We only create, edit, or delete events when you explicitly ask us to.
  • Gmail: We scan your inbox in read-only mode to pick up school notices, activity updates, and scheduling details. We never send, draft, or modify emails.
  • iCloud Calendar: We read your iCloud calendars using an app-specific password you provide. Your credentials are encrypted and stored in a secure vault.
  • You can revoke access at any time through your Google or Apple account settings.

Your use of Google services is also subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy.

6. Your data

You own your data. We don't claim any rights over your family's information, and we never use it to train AI models. Your data is never shared with other families. If you leave, you can request a copy of your data before we delete it.

7. What we're not responsible for

FamilyOS helps you stay organized, but it's not a replacement for checking things yourself. We're not responsible for missed appointments, forgotten deadlines, or anything that goes wrong because of an AI mistake or a gap in what we picked up from your calendar or inbox. Always double-check the important stuff.

8. Cancellation

You can cancel any time. When you do, contact us and we'll delete all your data. Dogwood Systems Inc. may also terminate access if these terms are violated.

9. Privacy

Your use of FamilyOS is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which covers how we collect, use, and protect your data.
